On to New Mexico!

Mar 23 - 28....There was definately snow between Kingman and Sun Valley - luckily it was no longer on the interstate as we passed through. Sun Valley is just east of Holbrook, AZ - it's just a spot in the road. The RV park we stayed at (Root 66 RV Park) was right off I40 & was quite noisy. We looked out to barren praire land (it made me feel right at home as it was very similar to north central Montana). We ended up only spending 2 nights there before we drove to Albuquerque on Friday. But first we did enjoy a great day in Hollbrook visiting a local museum and driving through and hiking in the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert. There are petrified trees or portions of them everywhere you look. They began forming about 225 million years ago when the area was covered with water. The park is filled with history. We are currently at Enchanted Trails RV Park (not sure where they got the name - we are again right off I40) just west of Albuquerque. Yesterday we drove to Old Town Albuquerque & along old Route 66 through town. Tomorrow we plan to drive to Sante Fe for the day!
