Entertainment in Pahrump!

We can definately say we have found a variety of things to do in Pahrump, NV. It's a pretty small town with a poplulation of 30,000.
After tourning the Winery we went to a very nice golf course and hit some golf balls. Yesterday we drove through Death Valley National Park - it's about 30 miles from here but the park is huge (3.3million acres).....Our first stop was at the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere which is Badwater, CA. This point is 282 ft below sea level and it is mostly a salt bed (Table Salt comes out of it). However since they have had an unusual amount of rainfall and it was winter, there was quite a bit of water in the lake bed. We then went on to "Furnace Creek" where we had lunch and walked around the village... then to "Scotty's Castle" where were went on a tour of the castle and walked the grounds (it was very strange to see this huge Castle out in the middle of nowhere). We were glad we were in the Park in the winter as it gets up to 120 degress in the summer (we experienced several weathe changes - at Furnace Creek it was 75 and at the Castle it was in the low 60's. Well 10hrs and 300 miles later we finished our day trip -just slightly exhausted!

Today we checked out a Casino.....of course we left a small amount behind! From there we went to a place recommended by the Pahrump Chamber of Commerce - no not the local park but the local "Brothel" (there are 2 in this small town - 1 called the Chicken Ranch). We decided what the heck we check it out so we went to the Sports Bar there for a drink and then went on a short tour (believe it or not---only in Nevada would they give a tour of a brothel). Can't say as we have ever done that before - we'll chock that one up as our most unusual tour so far in our travels!!!
