We made it back!
Feb 22 - 27...We had a grand time in Las Vegas at Dixie's class reunion. There were 17 of us (9 classmates). We went to a couple of shows, toured the strip via bus and feet, and had several good meals together. It was fun reminiscing and talking about old times! While in Las Vegas Mike went to the Lasik Vision Institute (he had Lasik surgery at the one in Houston 2 years ago). His distance vision has been going down hill so we thought we would have it checked out. He is scheduled to have an enhancement on one eye on Mar 14th so that will be another trip back to Las Vegas. We played another round of golf on Saturday - we had a great time and Dixie even attempted to keep score this time...gradually improving! After golf we went to the movie "Eight Below" - we would highly recommend it. Sunday we had a big fish fry at Mom & Dad's with 16 neighbors attending. Tomorrow we leave Havasu but just go down the road and across the Colorado River. We will be Emerald Cove in Earp, CA and will stay there until Mar 13th.

Las Vegas here we come!
Feb 15-21....We've had a pretty busy week. A couple of Dixie's aunts and uncles (Shirley & Warren and Marge & Don) came to Lake Havasu for a vacation and Danny and Lexi came up for the long weekend. Today we are driving the car to Las Vegas to attend Dixie's high school reunion (31yrs). Nine of the fourteen classmates will be attending. We are looking for to it as we haven't seen some of them since the 10 and 20 year reunions. We plan to be in LAS until Friday. The photo this week is from our RV park on Lake Havasu.

Happy Valentines Day
Feb 8 - 14....Happy Valentines Day!.....Last week we went with Dixie's parents for an overnight trip to Yuma, AZ. We crossed the border and went to Algadones, Mexico once again - had to see the dentist again and stock up on our 'drugs' & liquor!!!!! We visited a couple different family friends while in Yuma. On the way home we stopped at the US Army Proving Grounds outside of Yuma where we watched the Golden Knights practice their parachute jumps. It was pretty amazing and quite a show. We saw several plane loads of jumpers - one of the elite team members was even a women who had completed over 1600 jumps! They jump from approx. 10,000 feet - you can't even seen them until they release their chute and then they have red smoke coming from one leg. It's hard to really get the full feeling from the photo. Yesterday we hit another golf course. Still not ready to attend Q school -- not even ready to start keeping score yet! They say I will get better with time & practice!!!!! I think I've heard that befo

First Golf Round!
Jan 29 - Feb 6....We have pretty much settled into life in Lake Havasu City. We do not have internet access at our site so we have to make a trip into the Library to check email & complete the blog so we may be tardy at both. We are enjoying the great weather. We drove to Laughlin, NV last week to see some relatives that were vacationing there from Waco, TX. Mike donated a 20 to the slots and we had a nice lunch and visit. Finally ventured to the Golf Course -- After a year of practicing (hitting golf balls at the driving range) I finally played my first round of golf (nine holes) last Saturday. We went to a short Par 3 course near the London Bridge. It wasn't toooooo bad considering it was my first time. My first shot felt like a great one, however neither Mike or I saw where it landed and never could find the ball!!!! The good news was that was the only ball I lost. The bad news was I never kept score - maybe next time. We had a good time and I really did enjoy it...maybe I will improve with time! We had a little Super Bowl Party at my parents place for some friends. Today Mike golfed another course with Dad and some friends. This weeks plans include routine doctoring and a trip to Yuma & Mexico. I will try and put some pictures on the blog in the next couple of days! Not much new to take photo's of....The London Bridge looks the same as it did last year!!!!
